Gambling Chief hopes for a quick move for the online gambling bill

With billions in dollars on the cards, gambling industry was high on voice earlier today. The head of its main lobby group pitched a pessimistic statement with regards to the prospect of the Internet Regulatory laws to be issued by the Congress in this year.

Frank Fahrenkopf Jr., chief of the American Gaming Association, said that online wagering, which is being presently hosted by the overseas websites, should be the next target of their business that they need to overhaul. At this moment, these sites were considered amongst the biggest threats to the possible prosperity of the online casino industry in US.

Speaking from Las Vegas, Fahrenkopf said that things could still come into hand, if Bills, which were to be passed, get acted upon to the earliest. He believed that quick action needed to be taken during the post-election session of the Congressman to the proposal put forward by Jon Kyl, Republican Senator from Arizona, and Harry Reid, Democratic Majority Leader from Nevada.

During his annual briefing at the Global Gambling Expo with regards to the state-of-the-industry media, Fahrenkopf, also the former national chairman of the Republican Party, said, “We are going to require a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, if we wish to see the federal bill getting passed this year. Obviously, now, it will have to wait till the election gets over. So, our only hope in this year is the post session following the election.”

Fahrenkopf also said that around 85 nations have already legalized internet gambling. Some of them have estimated that around USD 35-billion is being invested in the worldwide market. And a considerable amount comes from people playing from US.
